States can kill its own citizens with U.S. drones

The Obama administration has stated. Republican senator: - I am more than alarmed.

"It is possible to imagine an extraordinary case where it would be necessary and appropriate under the U.S. law allowing the military to use deadly force within U.S. boundaries."

The striking  information emerges in a letter sent by the U.S. government's Minister of Justice, Eric Holder. The letter was addressed to the Republican Senator Rand Paul, who asked Justice whether Barack Obama has the authority to command an attack on an American citizen in the United States.

Justice Minister emphasizes that this is a hypothetical question, but it is nevertheless the first time in American history that a government has stated that they have the authority to command murder of their own citizens.

 More than frightening

The reason for the question was that Senator Paul refused to approve the nomination of the new CIA chief shallows Secrecy of the U.S. drone attacks. The Republican senator responds very strongly to the response he received from the Obama administration.

-  Holder will not rule out drone attacks on U.S. citizens is more than frightening - it is a direct insult to the Constitution which clearly states that all Americans have the right to a judicial proceeding.

The future CIA director, John Brennan, defended the use of U.S. drones when he was grilled in Congress a month ago. He is regarded as the architect of the drone program, which has taken the lives of American citizens abroad.

It is unclear how many civilians who are affected, but the New York Times believes to have figures showing that 80 innocent civilians were among the 400 who are killed in Yemen. In total over 3,000 people killed by U.S. drones in Obama's first term.

- They can do exactly as they want

He thinks it does not mean anything that Holder says it's a hypothetical question, and that it should only be done in extreme cases.

Barack Obama has previously signed a controversial law that makes that Americans can be held in prison by the military indefinitely without an opportunity to trial. But that they also interpret the Act to include the murder of its own citizens, is thus new information.

Obama is the first president in history who have ordered the killings of an American citizen abroad . In 2011 he approved namely the execution of the US-born Al Qaeda leader Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen.
