Tornado ravaged American small town

The tornado will be moved along the main street of the city, where it put hundreds of homes and business premises in ruins.

There were no reports of any deaths associated with the tornado, but dozens of people are injured. According to police, between 10 and 15 people sent to hospital, reports CNN .

In addition, the material damage extensive, and Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant has declared a state of emergency in four counties.

- We are blessed because we have not yet heard of any deaths or serious injuries. But we have more major damage to buildings in the city. If there is anything positive to say about this, it must be that it happened on a Sunday when most of the buildings were empty, said Mayor Johnny Dupree.
University of Southern Mississippi and all schools in the city will be closed on Monday as a result of tornado devastation.

More households are still without electricity, and authorities have their hands full cleaning up trees, cars and debris.

- The problem is that it left so much debris that there are many areas they have not been able to reach yet, says Dupree.

The storm continued east, and it was issued tornado warnings for parts of Mississippi and Alabama. These were later withdrawn.
