"The presidency seems hurt to see the shocking video footage of policemen who treats a protester in a manner inconsistent with human dignity or human rights" he wrote in a statement.
Video scenes have been taken up during demonstrations at the presidential palace in Egypt's capital Cairo on Friday night. According to Egypt Independent was the TV station Al-Hayat that filmed the event.
In the footage we see riot police who go after a grown man and beat him with batons, before easing him into the police car parked at the presidential palace.
The video has spread quickly across the Internet, with comments like: "As if the revolution never took place," writes the British newspaper The Telegraph .
Interior Minister Mohammed Ibrahim has noted the mind against the unpleasant video images, and went out Saturday to say that he has asked for an investigation of what happened. He also asks that police officers are behind the incident will be "held accountable".
The opposition believes Ibrahim measures are not enough, and requesting his retirement.
"The cruel and degrading images that show security guards and police beating and dragging a naked man for himself at the presidential palace should lead to the immediate departure of the interior minister," said a spokesman for the opposition group, the National Salvation Front, according to The Telegraph.
Threw petrol bombs
The unrest Friday to have broken out when opponents of President Mohamed Morsi threw petrol bombs over the walls of the presidential palace in Cairo. Security forces responded with water cannons and fired warning shots.
