Libya to CLOSE it's Borders

Libya closes its borders
Libya's borders against two of the six neighboring countries closed from midnight 14 February to 18th February.


It was announced by the Libyan prime minister Ali Zeidan Monday night.

- No one will be allowed to cross the Libyan border between Egypt and Tunisia as a precautionary measure, said Zeidan.

17. February will be celebrated that it is two years since the uprising against the then head of state Muammar Gaddafi began in Libya. Gaddafi was killed in October 2011 after having ruled the country for 40 years.

Security measure comes after the groups that are against the current government has called for peaceful demonstrations in celebration.

They want to protest against the government's inability to improve security in the country.

As a result of the calls for demonstrations, several international embassies in the country increased  security.
