Ahmadinejad wants to visit Gaza
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who is attending a summit in Cairo this week, says he wants to visit the Gaza Strip.
In an interview Monday, he said that he often visited the people of Gaza if he got permission. He did not say who he would eventually ask for permission.
Iran does not recognize Israel, and Egypt controls the access to the Gaza Strip from the Egyptian side.
Leaders from both Malaysia and Qatar have visited Gaza from the Egyptian side in recent months.
