In the poll, published in the newspaper Hayom, participants were asked whether they "support the idea of two states for two peoples, ie creation of an independent Palestinian state from Israel."
54 percent say they support the idea, while 38 percent rejected it. The rest refused to answer.
54 per cent say, however, that they see a peace deal with Palestinians impossible, and 55 do not look at President Mahmoud Abbas as a "partner for peace".
There are choices in Israel 22 January, and in the campaign, several parties of the extreme right wing talking openly about annexing the West Bank, which Israel has occupied since the Six Day War in 1967.
