Eight policemen and three prisoners killed in Afghanistan
The attack happened late Saturday night.
The three suspects who were killed, were arrested because they were suspected to have placed another bomb.
Police had run into a residential area to inspect a bomb that was found there. They had just completed work on defusing it, when another bomb exploded.
- As they left the place, a bomb next to their vehicle released, said police chief Abdul Kandahars Raziq.
Six other police officers and a prisoner who was in the car that came back were injured in the attack.
This is the third attack on Afghan police during a day.
Earlier in the day, ten people were killed in the city of Kunduz in northern Afghanistan, two people were killed in an attack in the eastern province.
