Two firefighters, Christmas Eve was shot dead and two others injured while attempting to extinguish a fire in Webster in the state of New York, USA.
Police in Webster confirms that it was William Spengler (62) who shot and killed firefighters. He previously served a prison sentence of 17 years in prison for the death of her grandmother in 1980.
Police said he set fire to his house to lure responders in a death trap. Spengler opened fire on the firemen when they arrived at the site just before 6 o'clock Monday morning, local time, according to Gerald Pickering, police chief in Webster.

Tuesday police said the killer left a note which said that he wanted to burn down the neighborhood. He also wrote: "I'll do what I like best, killing people."
Perpetrator ended his own life after being fired away at the firefighters, officials said.
Spengler was armed with three guns when he was found at the scene of the shootings.
Seven houses were on fire in the neighborhood Monday.
