Clinton Has Stomach Virus Cancels Middle East Tour

The Foreign Ministry said on Monday that U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton canceled a trip to Morocco this week to attend a meeting on the future of the Syrian opposition because of a viral infection in the stomach.

He will travel Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns to attend the meeting instead.

He said the ministry's spokesman Philip Raines, that due to ill health, they will not travel this week to North Africa and the Middle East as it was planned initially, and added: «instead travel Deputy Secretary Burns to Morocco for the Friends of the Syrian people, and we will keep you informed when recovering and resume public engagements.

He was scheduled to join «Clinton and the foreign ministers of the Friends of Syria to discuss the Syrian crisis, which the 20-month-old.
