27 people were killed when a military plane crashed in southern Kazakhstan
According to Kazakh television was a military transport aircraft that crashed.
Seven crew members and 20 border guards died when the plane crashed south of the country, about 20 km from the town of Shymkent. The town is located near the border with Uzbekistan.

The aircraft should have disappeared without trace from the radar at around 19 local, when it was near the town of Shymkent.

According to the news agency Interfax , there were probably several high-ranking officials from Kazakhstan's border authorities on board the aircraft.

Military aircraft were of the Antonov An-72.
